This is Warren's 4th studio album and it's a great one from 1982. It amazes me that it took 24 years for it to be released on CD. It didn't sell well back in 1982 (no hits), so the bean counters sure took a long time to digitize it. I personally place it third among his early Asylum releases, a notch above Bad Luck Streak... His first two (Asylum) records are still tops in my book. With guests like Don Henley, Lindsey Buckingham, Steve Lukather, Graham Nash and Zevon's usual backers such as Waddy Wachtel, David Landau, Jeff Porcaro, Leland Sklar and Danny Kortchmar there is some great playing here, as always. The songs seem more personal but still have the bite and dry humor he's known for. My favorite songs here are Let Nothing Come Between You (a poppy ditty), The Hula Hula Boys (a sad yet soothing island ballad), The Overdraft (a rockin' precurser to Warren's Sentimental Hygiene release, I think) and Charlie's Medicine. I'm glad I can finally retire the vinyl transfer versions of these great songs from my iPod. THANKS!
