[Machine Translation] Chris Spedding, one of Britain's most distinctive guitarists, has reissued his fantastic first album, remastered under his own supervision! He joined Buttered Ornaments led by Pete Brown, who is also known as a lyricist for Cream, and participated in albums by Jack Bruce, Frank Ricotti Quartet, and Nuclear, etc. He came into the limelight as an up-and-coming jazz guitarist following John McLaughlin in 1969. In 1969, he signed a solo contract with Harvest and recorded this album, but it was not released in the UK and was only released in Japan two years later in 1971. It was produced as a jazz album under his own leadership, as he was voted the second most popular jazz guitarist by Melody Maker magazine at the time (John McLaughlin came in first), and it is a free improvisation-oriented jazz-rock album in common with the likes of Nucleus and Soft Machine. It is a jazz-rock album with a focus on free improvisation, a style shared with the likes of Nuclearius and Soft Machine. Backed by Roger Potter (b) of the Buttered Ornaments, John Marshall (ds) of the Soft Machine and the Nuclears, and Paul Rutherford (tb) of the Derek Bailey Band.
