ウォーク・オン・ウォーター [SHM-CD] / UFO
60年代末期に結成され、現在でも世界中で絶大な人気を誇るイギリスのハードロック・バンドUFOの、1995年にリリースされたアルバム『Walk On Water』が、日本ではオリジナル・リリースの1995年以来となる約29年振りの再発が決定。更に今回の再発ではオリジナルと異なるジャケット、かつSHM-CDで最新リマスター仕様となっている。この作品は、"神"の異名を持つ、日本で絶大な支持を誇るギター・ヒーロー、マイケル・シェンカーが1970年末期にバンドを脱退後、15年以上振りにバンドに復帰し、黄金期でのラインナップによる再結成作品として、当時話題を呼んだ。更に本作品は彼らの代表作「Lights Out」「Obsession」「Strangers in the Night」をプロデュースしたロン・ネヴィソンを起用。往年のシンプルでありながらもソリッドでタイトなブリティッシュ・サウンドを再現したこともこの作品の注目すべきポイントの一つである。マイケルが加わって作られた本作収録の楽曲はダークでミステリアスな雰囲気を醸しつつも、泣きのメロディは健在で、往年のUFOサウンドとしてファンを唸らせるものであった。更にアルバム最後には彼らの代表曲の新録 (当時) ヴァージョンである「Doctor Doctor '95」と「Lights Out '95」が収録されており、長年再結成を待ち続けたファンに対するバンドからの嬉しいプレゼントとして収録された。解説歌詞対訳付。
