[Machine Translation] RAINBOW, led by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, was one of the bands that ignited the hard rock boom in Japan in the 1970s, and has had a profound influence on numerous musicians. This is a live recording of the lineup from "Down To Earth", the only studio album that the band left with Graham Bonnet, who joined the band as the second vocalist after Ronnie James Dio, the first vocalist, left the band. The setlist started with Holst's suite "Planet" with Mars as the soundtrack, and the band kicked into top gear with the first song "Eyes Of The World" to draw the audience in, followed by "Love's No Friends", "Since You've Been With Me", "The Last Time I Saw You", "The Last Time I Saw You", and "The Last Time I Saw You". Love's No Friends", "Since You Been Gone", "All Night Long", and "Lost In Hollywood" with solos by the band members in between, and the band continued to play songs from "Down To Earth". The band closed the show with their signature song, "Man On The Silver Mountain" and "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll", keeping the momentum going until the very end. The album also includes the song "Since You Been Gone," which was recorded with the help of Russ Ballard, and is a work that shows the band's awareness of the U.S. charts and their determination to make a full-scale entry into the U.S. market. 70年代の日本でハード・ロック・ブームの火付け役となったバンドの一つで、数々のミュージシャンにも多大な影響を与えたギタリスト、リッチー・ブラックモア率いるRAINBOW。初代ヴォーカリストであるロニー・ジェイムス・ディオが脱退し、2代目ヴォーカリストとして加入したグラハム・ボネットと共に残した唯一のスタジオ作品「Down To Earth」のラインナップによるライヴ音源。本作は1979年9月からスタートしたアメリカ・ツアーの終盤11月後半の模様を収録した音源で、セットリストはホルストの組曲「惑星」から火星をSEにスタートし、1曲目の"Eyes Of The World"からトップギアに入ったバンドの演奏で観客を引き込み、"Love's No Friends"、"Since You Been Gone"、"All Night Long"、そしてメンバーのソロを間に挟んだ "Lost In Hollywood"と立て続けに「Down To Earth」の曲を畳みかけて行く様は圧巻。そして代表曲"Man On The Silver Mountain~Long Live Rock 'N' Roll"と最後まで途切れない勢いを持ち続けたままライヴを締めくくっている。この時期はラス・バラードの力を借りた"Since You Been Gone"をアルバムに収録するなど全米のチャートを意識した作品ともなっており、当時本格的にアメリカ進出に踏み出した彼らの鬼気迫る気合振りが感じられる作品である。今までグラハム在籍時のライヴ音源はごく僅かだっただけに、全盛期のバンドの勢いがパッケージングされた迫力のあるこのライヴ作品は、正にマニア垂涎かつ必聴のコレクターズ・アイテムと言えるだろう。※同時発売2タイトルとも演目は同一楽曲です。
