The Lost Songs: 1978-1981

[Machine Translation] This is a collection of valuable sound recordings from the days before the explosion of the Dokken, a band that boasts a high popularity in Japan. 日本でも高い人気を誇るドッケンの、爆発前夜とも言える時代の貴重音源集。ドッケンは1981年に『ブレーキング・ザ・チェインズ』でデビューするが、それ以前、70年代末期に中心人物のドン・ドッケン(Vo)は西ドイツ(当時)で活動し、その後L.A.に戻り、ジョージ・リンチ(G)、ミック・ブラウン(Ds)、後にRATTにも加入するフォアン・クルーシェ(B)らとドッケンを再スタートする。その再スタート時に録音されたデモ等の音源が、ドッケンの世界的な成功の後に流出、『バック・イン・ザ・ストリーツ』というタイトルで半ば海賊盤のような形で1989年にリリースされてしまう。本作はその『バック・イン・ザ・ストリーツ』に収録されていた楽曲の他、ドン・ドッケン監修の下、西ドイツ時代のものや初出(と考えられる)ものを含むドッケンごく初期の貴重音源を中心にまとめられたファン垂涎の作品。ドッケン・ファンだけでなく、L.A.メタル・ファン、そしてL.A.メタル史を語る上でも貴重かつ重要な資料となり得る作品。
