プライマル・フィア等の活動で知られる、マット・シナー率いるシナーのスタジオ・アルバムとしては前作から2年振りで19枚目の作品。日本盤としては8年ぶりのリリースとなるアルバム。変わらない良さがそこにある。メロディー・パワー・スピードの三拍子が揃った紛れも無き100%ピュア・ジャーマン・メタル・アルバムである。タイトルにあるサンタ・ムエルテとは、スペイン語で死の聖母を意味する言葉であり、メキシコの民俗カトリック主義における聖人、あるいは女神を示す。死を擬人化した姿で表現され、あらゆる願いを叶えてくれるとして現地では崇拝されている。ゲストミュージシャンとしてロニー・ロメロ(レインボー)、リッキー・ウォリック(シン・リジー)、マグナス・カールソン(プライマル・フィア等)が参加。またミックス&マスターにはピンク・クリーム69のデニス・ワードが担当している。
