[Machine Translation] Released in 1972, this is JBG's fourth album, also known as "Orange". Produced by Steve Cropper, guitarist for Booker T. & the MG's, and recorded in Memphis. The album is so confidently accomplished that it even bears the group's name for the first time, and has a musicality that is similar to the great masterpiece "Blow by Blow," which would be released a few years later. Four of the nine songs on this album are covers, including B. Dylan's "With You Tonight" and S. Wonder's "I Got To Have A Song," which are so Beck-colored that they could be called Beck originals, but they are darker, funkier, and more soulful than the previous album. 2005. 72年発表の通称 "オレンジ" と呼ばれるJBG通算4枚目の作品。プロデューサーは、ブッカーT&MG'sのギタリスト、スティーブ・クロッパーが務めメンフィスで録音。グループ名を初めてタイトルに冠するほど程、自信にみなぎった完成度の高いアルバムで、数年後に生まれる大傑作「ブロウ・バイ・ブロウ」に通ずる音楽性を持っている。全9曲中4曲がカバーで、B.ディランの「今宵はきみと」やS.ワンダーの「アイ・ゴット・トゥ・ハヴ・ア・ソング」などベックのオリジナルといっても過言でない程ベック色に染まっているが、前作以上に黒っぽく、ファンキーでソウルフルな仕上がり。2005年デジタルリマスター。歌詞・対訳・解説付き。
