バークレー音楽院の同窓生だった日向大介、野中英紀を中心に結成された"インテリア"。アルバム「インテリア」は1982年に細野晴臣主催のレーベル [Yen Records]からリリースされたファーストアルバム。インストゥルメンタル・シンセポップに"アンビエント・ミュージック"環境音楽"的作法を元にエモーショナルな味付けを加えた音楽スタイルは、USニューエイジ・ミュージック界の代表格ウィンダム・ヒル・レコードも着目。アルバム「インテリア」に若干の変更を加えた再編集盤アルバム「インテリアズ」はアーティスト名義を"インテリアズ"として同レーベルより1985年にリリースされた。今回の2枚組CD「インテリア/インテリア」は [DISC1]に1982年 [Yen Records]リリースのアルバム「インテリア」(全10曲)を収録。 [DISC2]に1985年 [ウィンダム・ヒル・レコード]リリースのアルバム「インテリアズ」(全9曲)を収録した完全盤。
