[Machine Translation] Otomo Yoshihide Special Big Band's second album release in two consecutive months. Originally composed at the request of conductor Yutaka Sado, "SORA TO MIRAI TO" was premiered by the Hyogo Armed Forces Cultural Center Orchestra on January 17, 2025, 30 years after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. After the premiere, Otomo immediately began work on a big band version of the piece, which, despite being an orchestral piece, also contains elements of improvisation. [Based on this theme, which can be said to be the basis of Otomo's activities in various forms after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the piece was composed by Otomo himself, using melodies and rhythms he had created for his recent masterpieces, such as "The Sky Reflected Wednesday, November 18, 2022," "Idaten," and "Fukushima Waraji Matsuri," as well as various other pieces of his own. The improvised parts of the piece are the key elements that support this work. Yutaka Sado, who provided the impetus for the creation of this work, participates as guest conductor for the improvised parts, adding the utmost brilliance and depth to this work. 大友良英スペシャルビッグバンド、2ヶ月連続アルバム・リリースの第2弾。元々「そらとみらいと」は指揮者、佐渡裕からの依頼で作曲、阪神淡路大震災から30年目の2025年1月17日に兵庫兵術文化センター管弦楽団によって初演された作品。オーケストラ作品にも関わらず即興演奏の要素も入っているこの作品の初演後、大友はすぐにビッグバンド・バージョンの制作に取り掛かった。＜鎮魂、即興、そして祭り＞東日本大震災後の大友が様々な形でやってきた活動の根幹ともいえるこのテーマをもとに、近年の大友の代表曲ともいえる「空が映えた2022年11月18日水曜日」や「いだてん」「福島わらじまつり」のために作った旋律やリズムなど、彼自身の様々な作品が本作を支える重要な要素になっている。即興パートでは、この作品が生まれる切っ掛けを作ってくれた佐渡裕がゲスト指揮者として参加、本作に最高の華やかさと深みを添えている。ライナーノーツ封入。
