ジャズ、ヒップホップ、ソウル、フォークなどさまざまなジャンルを越境するシンガー"ソウル"ライター、RUNG HYANG (ルンヒャン)。 12月に発売されるのは、2022年の『ROMANTIA』と2023年の『AROMATIC』というRUNG HYANGのEP2作をひとつにまとめたLPレコード。サイドAとなる『ROMANTIA』は、切ない心情をTomokazu "T.O.M" Matsuzawaによるグルーヴあふれるトラックに載せて歌う「CICADA」で幕を開け、公私ともに仲のよい向井太一 (現TAIL)をゲストに迎えた「Puzzle」、盟友Shingo.Sの手によるチルトラップ的なR&Bチューン「Crush」、Shin Sakiuraによるモダンなディスコファンク「AWAKE」、ソウルミュージックへの愛にあふれたタイムレスなサウンドとともに"何が正しいのか?""正しさとは?"と問いかけるバラード「嫌いな人」などを収録。サイドBの『AROMATIC』は、"大人よ遊べ"という近年のRUNG HYANGのテーマを軽快なサウンドで表現した「オトナの時間」や、想い人との関係の悩みを90年代R&B調のメロウなサウンドに包んで吐露する「weakness」といったShingo.Sとの楽曲から、＜Chilly Source＞のillmoreと初タッグを組んだチルなR&Bチューン「Floater」、RUNG HYANGとTENDREの世界観が夕暮れに伸びる影のように交わう「ANY DAY」、誰もが避けられない"死別"をテーマにしたピアノ・バラード「Our story」まで5曲を収録する。今回の『ROMANTIA / AROMATIC』発売にあたっては、ライブの定番でもある人気曲「嫌いな人」の新規リミックスをサイドAに追加収録。同曲は、RUNG HYANGがパーソナリティを務めていたblock.fmの番組内にて、リスナーから寄せられた悩みに即興でつくったアンサーソングが元となっており、今回新たに制作されたリミックスはblock.fm局長である☆Taku Takahashi (m-flo)が担当した。今回のLPレコードは、岡本充男の撮影による『ROMANTIA』、嶌村吉祥丸の撮影による『AROMATIC』と、ファッション界で引っ張りだこの人気フォトグラファーが撮り下ろしたそれぞれのジャケット写真が両面に施される仕様となっており、手元に置いておきたくなるアートな魅力も光る。
