ヨーロッパを拠点とする中国人ピアニスト、シュ・シャオメイ。今回、彼女の代名詞とも言える作品「ゴルトベルク変奏曲」を25年ぶりに再録音。2014年のライプツィヒ・バッハ音楽祭のライヴ映像 (ACC20313)が発売されているが、シュ・シャオメイのゴルトベルク変奏曲といえば、1990年に録音され、仏ディアパゾン誌で5つ星を獲得した名盤 (MIR048)が思い出される。それから25年後に録音された当CDでもバッハの音楽に対する深い理解と、驚くべき透明感で演奏されるピアノの音、あまたあるゴルトベルク変奏曲の演奏の中でも一際大きな魅力を備えた演奏。日本語帯・解説付。
