Description

[Machine Translation] - Welcome to Kino Laika, Aki Kaurismaki's cinema - The first documentary film featuring filmmaker Aki Kaurismaki ("Beyond Hope" and "Dead Leaves"). This is a story of people who live in a rich natural environment and love the arts, and their love for cinema and the town of Kalkkila. The film captures the signs of change brought to the town by Kaurismaki's ideal cinema, Kino Laika, and the possibilities of cinemas in the future. This is the first feature-length film by Croatian artist Veliko Vidak. He stayed in Karckila for a year with his wife and 8-month-old daughter, and while helping with the work leading up to the opening of Kino Laika, he picked up the voices of the people who were excited about the birth of the movie theater. The protagonists of this documentary are the residents of Carruccilla. Among them are Mika Ratti, co-owner of Kino Laika; Nup Koivu, the director of "Dead Leaves"; Simon Hussein Albazoun and his sister pop duo Maustetut; Toshitake Shinohara, who sang the closing song of "L'avi de boheme" ("Snow Falling Town") and other songs; and Director Yuho Kuosmanen, and other Kaurismaki actors and staff members also appear in the film and humorously talk about their memories of the film. Of course Aki Kaurismaki makes an appearance, and Kaurismaki's close friend Jim Jarmusch also shares some of his best-kept secrets! --Karkkila, a steel town in Scandinavian Finland. Kallkkila, a steel town in Scandinavian Finland, was once nothing but deep forests, lakes, and a disused foundry, but soon the first movie theater, Kino Laika, will open in the small town. The director Aki Kaurismaki and his friends will install the chairs by themselves and put up the screen. Cadillacs, motorcycles, beer, and music. In a town that looks like it came out of a Kaurismaki movie, the residents are excited about the prospect of a movie theater and start talking about movies... The film will include a theatrical trailer and an interview with director Veliko Vidak (tentative).
