デビュー40周年を迎えた日本が世界に誇るトップドラマー神保彰がオリジナルアルバム3タイトルを同時発売。新たなる挑戦として、今回はオリジナルアルバムの3作同時制作に挑戦。これまでのアルバム制作ではロスやNYへ飛び、現地ミュージシャンと生のセッションの魅力を追求してきた神保だが、今回はコロナ禍により渡米を断念。NYと東京でのリモートによる制作がなされた。書き下ろした100曲の候補のなかからえりすぐられた29曲に命が吹き込まれ完成したのが、青・赤・黄色の三原色をコンセプトにした「28 NY Blue」、「29 NY Red」、「30 Tokyo Yellow」。「29 NY Red」は、NYラテンピアノ界の名ピアニストSilvano Monasteriosと、ラテンジャズ界のファーストコールベーシストRicky Rodriguezをフィーチャーしたラテン色の濃いピアノトリオおよびデュオアルバムで、Rickyのウッドベースが新鮮。
