連続放送終了から4年を経て復活した必殺シリーズ第30作が、お求めやすい単品で登場! 第3巻。第1作『必殺仕掛人』から15年に渡り続いた連続放送を、第29作『必殺剣劇人』で一旦終了した必殺シリーズ。だが、ファンの要望に応え4年の時を経てレギュラーシリーズとして復活したのが、この第30作『必殺仕事人 激突!』である。主役は藤田まこと、演じるのはもちろん中村主水。そして、かつての「必殺ブーム」の立役者である三田村邦彦も、簪の秀として復活。また、数々の「必殺スペシャル」に出演し好評だった滝田栄が山田朝右衛門役で初のレギュラー出演。さらに、百化けのお歌役の光本幸子と、夢次役の中村橋之助、女元締・初瀬役の酒井和歌子らが初参加。また本作では、奉行所内に設けられた「仕事人狩り」なる覆面組織の目をかわしながら裏の仕事を果たさねばならないというスリリングな設定も加わった。第7話「江戸繁盛の裏の顔」、第8話「新門辰五郎のまとい」、第9話「対決! 邪剣 VS 剛剣」を収録。
