BACK TO DUST

The first new EP in two years by Tokyo-based alternative rock band HOLLOW SUNS is released on 12-inch vinyl!! Centered on alternative rock as represented by JIMMY EAT WORLD, FOO FIGHTERS, and SMASHING PUMPKINS, it fuses diverse musical influences such as grunge, punk, and shoegaze, delivering an aggressive, powerful, and solid sound that incorporates hardcore grooves as the band's roots and melodic punk-derived hooks. In June 2022, they released the first album "OTHERSIDE", produced together with Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip, known for working with TURNSTILE and TITLE FIGHT. In February 2024, they released "FREE FALL" and carried out a 16-date East Coast U.S. tour, earning recognition for their performances and being selected as the opening act for the East Coast tour of New York post-hardcore band RIVAL SCHOOLS, followed by a second U.S. tour including appearances at two festivals. In 2025, they were chosen as a support act for THE STORY SO FAR JAPAN TOUR. To date, they have toured with many overseas acts such as TOUCHE AMORE, SUPERHEAVEN, DRUGCHURCH, and FLESHAWATER, and have also held two-man shows with The BONEZ. The new release, their first in two years and released in March 2026 by Japan's ICE GRILL$, America's SUNDAY DRIVERECORDS, and Australia's LAST RIDE RECORDS, further deepens a darker and heavier worldview while inheriting the flow of the previous work, featuring songs that combine the weight of modern heaviness, the aggression of hardcore and punk, the depth of shoegaze and grunge, and catchy melodies. Mixing and mastering are handled by Will Yip as with the previous work, and the artwork is created by Brianna Collins of TIGERS JAW. 東京を拠点に活動するオルタナティブ・ロック・バンド、HOLLOW SUNSの2年ぶりの新作EPが12"にてリリース!! JIMMY EAT WORLD、FOO FIGHTERS、SMASHING PUMPKINSに代表されるオルタナティブ・ロックを軸に、グランジ、パンク、シューゲイザーといった多様な音楽的影響を融合させ、バンドのルーツであるハードコアのグルーヴと、メロディック・パンク由来のフックを内包した、アグレッシブかつパワフルで骨太なサウンドを鳴らす。2022年6月にTURNSTILEやTITLE FIGHT などを手掛けるグラミー賞ノミネート・プロデューサーWill Tip と共に製作された1st アルバム『OTHERSIDE』を発表。2024年2月には『FREE FALL』をリリースし、全16公演に及ぶアメリカ・東海岸ツアーを敢行し、そのパフォーマンスが評価され、ニューヨークのポストハードコア・バンド、RIVAL SCHOOLSの東海岸ツアーのオープニングアクトに抜擢され、2つのフェスティバル出演を含む2度目のアメリカツアーを行う。2025年にはTHE STORY SO FAR JAPAN TOURのサポートアクトに選出。現在までにTOUCHE AMORE、SUPERHEAVEN、DRUGCHURCH、FLESHAWATERら多くの海外勢とのツアーから、The BONEZとのツーマン公演なども行っている。2026年3月に日本のICE GRILL$、アメリカのSUNDAY DRIVERECORDS、オーストラリアのLAST RIDE RECORDS yよりリリースされる2年ぶりの新作は、前作の流れを引き継ぎつつ、よりダークでヘビーな世界観を深化させ、モダン・ヘヴィネスの重厚さ、ハードコア/パンクの攻撃性、シューゲイザーやグランジのディープさに、キャッチーなメロディが加わった楽曲が並ぶ。本作のミックス/マスタリングは前作同様にWill Yipが担当し、アートワークはTIGERS JAW のB rianna Collins が手掛けている。本作リリース後は全国ツアーに加えて、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ、アジア、オーストラリア・ツアーが予定されている。Cobalt Blue Vinyl。日本限定帯付きLP。
