追悼ジョン・ダグラス・ロード 1941年6月9日-2012年7月16日 ――2011年自身が癌による闘病中であることを公表した彼は「コンチェルト・フォー・グループ・アンド・オーケストラ」のスタジオ・レコーディング作業に向けて着手する。2012年ロンドン、アビー・ロード・スタジオで行われたレコーディングはポール・マン指揮、ゲスト・パフォーマーとして、ブルース・ディッキンソン(アイアン・メイデン)、スティーヴ・モーズ(ディープ・パープル)、ジョー・ボナマッサらを迎え行われた。ジョン・ロードは闘病中にも関わらず、レコーディングのポスト・プロダクション、アートワーク制作に精力的に携わり、2012年初夏、作品は完成。作品のプロモーションのためにインタビューがセッティングされている最中、容態が悪化、7月16日ロンドンで死去した。作曲家としてのキャリアを確立するきっかけとなった作品を、より理想の形に近づけるため作業が結果、彼の遺作となった。秀でた才能を持った音楽家が残された人生をかけて磨き上げた、まさに珠玉の作品。最も美しく調和を成し、限りない情熱の発露を秘め「コンチェルト・フォー・グループ・アンド・オーケストラ」はここに作曲家自身が思い描いた理想の形で完成したのである。初回限定盤はボーナスDVD付き。レコーディング風景等の映像を収録。ステレオ音源の他、5.1chサラウンド・ミックスも収録。
