Pierre Monteux: Recorded Live in The Royal Festival Hall & Usher Hall Edinburgh etc 1955, 1956 & 1961

[Machine Translation] Richard Itter ( 1928-2014 ), founder of the "Lyrita Recorded Edition" label, actively recorded British music and contributed to the discovery of unknown composers. This is the fourth in a series of CDs from his valuable collection of BBC broadcasts that he has been air-checking since 1952 using the most advanced professional equipment available at the time. Montoux is acknowledged by all as a specialist in French music, but he also had a deep love for Brahms, and it is a pleasure to include his Symphony No. 3, which has never been officially recorded, as well as two concertos that have never appeared on CD before. Frank's "Symphonic Variations" was performed with his longtime friend Casadoche, and this live performance is the earliest recording of Montoux conducting this work. Debussy's "Images" and Chausson's "Symphonies" are Montoux's only live recordings. As a bonus, Haydn No. 102 by Munch, also a French conductor, is included. This is the only remaining recording of him conducting this work and is extremely valuable.
