Bach: Goldberg Variations for String Quartet

『アルデオ』 (ラテン語で私は燃える、の意)を名前に冠した弦楽四重奏団による作品。2001年にパリ国立高等音楽院で結成されたアンサンブル。大阪生まれで、フランスと日本を拠点に活躍するヴァイオリニスト梁美沙、日本人ヴィオラ奏者、原裕子を含む4人の女性メンバーは、文字通り燃えるように激しい情熱で音楽に取り組み、成功を収めている。このアルバムで彼女たちが演奏しているのは、バッハの名作「ゴルトベルク変奏曲」の弦楽四重奏版。編曲を行ったのはメンバーたちが10年程前に出会い、作品を演奏してきたという作曲家フランソワ・メイムンで、彼は長い間「ゴルトベルク変奏曲」を弦楽四重奏曲に編曲したいと考えていたという。メンバーたちは編曲のプロセスをつぶさに見ることで「メイムン版ゴルトベルク」を深く理解し、ここに共感溢れる見事な演奏が生まれた。
