So, the first show’s live recording in Astoria is fantastic - I’m a huge Jake fan, and this definitely scratches that itch. I mean, they all sound fantastic which is amazing given the band wasn’t a very cohesive unit at the time. The second show’s recoding, however, is very rough but again, you’re really only buying this release for the Astoria live show

オジー・オズボーンのアルバム『罪と罰 (原題: The Ultimate Sin)』ツアーを終えた後に解雇されたギタリスト、ジェイク・E・リーは、新たなバンドの結成を進める。そして元ブラック・サバスのヴォーカリスト、レイ・ギランと共にバッドランズを結成、1989年にアルバム『バッドランズ (原題: Badlands)』をリリースし、全米アルバム・チャートNo.57とまずまずのスタートを切る。バンドはドラマーを交代させた後、新作のレコーディングに入る。アルバム『ヴードゥー・ハイウェイ (原題: Voodoo Highway)』を1991年にリリースし、北米～イギリスをツアー。好評を博したイギリスで翌92年にアンコール・ツアーを実施。その中で7月2日のロンドン公演はBBCテレビ・ラジオの番組の為に収録・放送される。本作はこの放送時の音源によるライヴ・アルバムであり、アンコールを含めてコンサートを完全収録している。ジェイク・E・リーのブルース寄りのギター・プレイとパワフルなレイ・ギランのヴォーカルが織り成すハード・ロック・サウンドはライヴでより磨きがかかり、オーディエンスを熱中させる。ボーナス・トラックとして1989年のカナダのトロントでのコンサートを6曲追加収録。輸入盤国内仕様 (日本語帯、英文ライナー・ノーツ対訳付)。
