ザ・ファーム解散後のジミー・ペイジは幾つかのレコーディングに参加した後、映画『ロサンゼルス』のサウンドトラック・アルバムに続くソロ・アルバムの制作をスタートさせる。そして1988年6月にアルバム『アウトライダー (原題: Outrider)』をリリースする。アルバムは全米アルバム・チャートNo.26、全英アルバム・チャートNo.27にランク・インし、ゴールド・ディスクを獲得する。このアルバムを引っ提げてジミー・ペイジはレコーディングに参加した3人のメンバーのジョン・マイルズ (vo)、ダーバン・ラヴェルデ (b)、ジェイソン・ボーナム (ds)を率いて同年9月2日フロリダ州マイアミより11月26日のイギリスのマンチェスターまで37公演のアメリカ～イギリス・ツアーを行う。この中で10月19日オハイオ州クリーブランドでのコンサートはMTVのスペシャル番組用として収録・放送される。本作はこの放送時の音源によるライヴ・アルバムであり、アンコールを含めてコンサートの模様を完全収録している。ライヴ・パフォーマンスはヤードバーズ、レッド・ツェッペリン、ザ・ファーム、サウンドトラック、そしてソロ・アルバムとこれまでのジミー・ペイジの活動歴を辿る選曲で構成されており、ファンにとっては感涙ものの内容。ドラマーには故ジョン・ボーナムの子息であるジェイソン・ボーナムが参加しているだけにレッド・ツェッペリンの楽曲でのパフォーマンスはより完璧! アンコールで披露する名曲「天国への階段」のインストゥルメンタル・バージョンはレッド・ツェッペリン解散後、このツアーにおいて初のライヴでの披露である。輸入盤国内仕様＜日本語帯、英文ライナー・ノーツ対訳付＞。
