照魔鏡に写し出された前世の悪業! 全人類の欲望と罪を暴く恐怖の世界! 「東海道四谷怪談」と共に中川信夫が監督した日本怪奇映画における最高傑作。前半部では現実世界でのカオスな『地獄』を、後半部では「血の池」「針の山」に代表される死後の『地獄』を大胆な映像でエキセントリックに表現している。――大学生の清水は、悪魔のような友人・田村が運転する車で恋人・幸子の家から帰る途中、人を轢き殺してしまう。清水は自首するために幸子と警察へ向かうが、今度は途中で事故に遭い幸子が死亡する。失意の清水は、母危篤の報を受けたこともあり父が経営する養老施設「天上園」へと赴くが、そこにも田村が現れ、狂った歯車の回転はさらに加速度を増していく。眼前で繰り広げられる凄惨な地獄絵図。阿鼻叫喚の中で清水は生死の境に落ちていく。そして、そこには真の"地獄"が待っていたのだった。ポストカード型解説書(カラー/3枚予定)封入。
