[鈴木清順生誕100周年記念シリーズ] 旧制中学の荒々しい「ケンカ」に明け暮れる硬派青年たちの姿を活写したバンカラ青春映画の傑作。脚本の新藤兼人が徹底的にリアルに検証したケンカ四十八手を鈴木清順監督が見事に映画化した。出演は高橋英樹、浅野順子ほか。――岡山中学の南部麒六(高橋英樹)は"喧嘩キロク"と異名を持つほどの喧嘩好き。そんなキロクに喧嘩のコツを教える先輩・スッポン(川津祐介)のすすめで岡山中学にある硬派学生集団・OSMS団に入ることになったキロクは、凄まじい暴れぶりでたちまち副団長になった。そんなキロクにも悩みがあった。下宿先の娘・道子(浅野順子)のことが好きなのだが、硬派の道を進む男の掟で口を利くことができないのだ。反対に道子は遠慮なくキロクに話しかけ、しまいには夜の散歩に連れ出す始末。その様子をOSMS団の団長・タクアン(片岡光雄)に見つかってしまい・・・。
