髪ふり乱した猫の怨霊! 古池が呼ぶ血と因縁の呪い! 呪いをこめて燃えさかる鬼火! 『東海道四谷怪談』の北沢典子、『地獄』の沼田曜一が出演。怪猫は新東宝の怪老婆役で有名な五月藤江。原作は直木賞作家の橘外男。新東宝映画では彼の原作から『亡霊怪猫屋敷』や『女吸血鬼』として映画されている。中川信夫監督に師事し、中川作品で脚本や助監督を務めてきた石川義寛の初監督作品。 閉じ込められていた怪猫が、遠い過去の怨念を晴らすために女性に祟るという恐怖と戦慄の怪談物語。
