Seijuku Suru Kisetsu

[Machine Translation] [A youthful epic directed by master filmmaker Takeichi Saito, featuring the fresh duo of Mitsuo Hamada and Masako Izumi, that depicts the joys and sorrows of a group of adolescents growing up. The film stars Izumi Ashikawa as a teacher. The screenplay is by Ikeda Ichiro and Miyauchi Fukiko, who later worked as popular writer Takashi Keiichiro. The impressive dialogue and development of the story are superb. The film was shot by Takamura Kurataro, a famous cameraman whose works include "Bakumatsu Taiyouden" (Bakumatsu Taiyouden). The clean black-and-white cinematography, shot on location in Shinshu, is superb. The cast also includes Hiroyuki Nagato, Akifumi Inoue, Sadako Sawamura, Hisano Yamaoka, Kotoei Hatsui, Tsutomu Shimomoto, Taiji Tonoyama, and Zenji Yamada. This is the first HD remastered version of the film on DVD, telecine-ed from the original negative film and authored to commemorate Nikkatsu's 110th anniversary. --Hanaki Yuko, a sophomore at -Kita High School, is considered by her teachers to be a student to watch out for. One day, Yukio Mine, whom she had met once at a coffee shop in town, commits suicide because he was heartbroken for Yuko. The teachers insisted on punishment, but Yamanaka and Nai tried to look after Yuko with warm eyes, while her classmate Rintaro Banmura was always there to console her.
