Miho Komatsu 8 - a piece of cake

Her music (and appearance!) just gets prettier over the years. <3 "a piece of cake" is drastically different than her previous albums. All of her previous albums had mixed rhythms: the tracks were fast, slow, & moderately paced. But nearly ALL of these new tracks are super slow (& they have a classic, "familiar" feel to them). But that's a good thing -- it makes the songs more romantic, sweet, & fluffy. Like, well, a piece of cake. =) The 12 tracks are a hodgepodge of 6 previously released songs (5 songs were on CD singles, & she originally wrote "Fukigen ni Naru Watashi" for Sayuri Iwata), plus 6 new tracks. But in typical Miho fashion, you might not like all the songs -- at first. Some songs have a VERY complex rhythm, or sound "mediocre" mixed with her singing ("my darling" & "Kami-sama wa Jitto Miteiru" come to mind). But you should listen to these tracks at least twice; I guarantee you'll figure out the rhythm, & then the songs'll start to grow on you. All in all, this is an excellent album that ANYONE who appreciates good music will enjoy. You're bound to fall in love with her (plus one of tracks ["Koi ni Nare..."] actually means "Fall in Love with Me..". Ya gotta love that. =)
