Description

[Machine Translation] The definitive naval battle movie that thrillingly depicts the battle between the Royal Navy and the German battleships! The German Navy built armored ships, known as "pocket battleships," to counter the overwhelming superiority of the British Navy. The film is an adaptation of "The Battle of the Plate" that took place in December 1939. The Royal Navy's Southampton-class light cruiser Sheffield and other ships were mobilized for the filming, which shows a powerful firefight, and the Kent-class heavy cruiser Cumberland, which participated in the actual naval battle, also makes an appearance. The role of Spee is played by Salem, a De Moyne-class heavy cruiser of the U.S. Navy, and the heroic figure of a triple turret can be seen. --The German pocket battleship Graf Spee, which was hunting merchant ships in the South Atlantic, was discovered by the three British cruisers "G Squadron" led by Commander Harwood (A. Quayle). Despite being outnumbered, G Squadron boldly took up the challenge, but the Spee was hit and fled to the neutral country of Uruguay. The British side also suffered losses, and the battle was 50-50. Then, in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo, the game of nations begins...
