Trapped at sea in a hurricane, the eight-member crew, trapped in a submarine base, fight to the death against an invisible enemy to survive. Directed by George P. Cosmatos, a master of social commentary. The creation of the creature, which remains a mystery until the very end, was handled by Academy Award regular Stan Winston. The suspense is heightened by the music of the great master Jerry Goldsmith. The film stars Peter Weller of "Robocop" fame.
