Yoh, a high school student aspiring to be a musician, struggles with disapproving parents and tensions among his bandmates, unable to decide his future. One day, as Yoh walks through an intersection, a mysterious voice echoes in his mind and he is enveloped in a white light. Meanwhile, on the orbiting planet Meguriboshi, a peace negotiation ceremony is about to take place between nations long at war over the energy source "Star Blood." Suddenly, a massive orbital debris falls, and Vigo of the Pluguard Corps desperately responds. To aid Vigo, the robot mechanic Rako launches in an unfinished craft, managing to move the debris to the sea surface but suffering heavy damage, losing consciousness. In his unconscious state, Rako encounters Yoh within his mind.
