[Machine Translation] Akira Sakata, a treasure of the Japanese free jazz and improvised music world, and Riei Nakajima, a London-based sound artist active in Europe and internationally, have been performing together since the mid-2010s in Japan and abroad. On December 4, 2023, while Rie Nakajima was temporarily back in Japan, the two appeared at the Tokyo Ftarri and performed two duo sets. Sakata played alto saxophone and clarinet. He played calmly and solemnly, with no hot blows, and with great restraint throughout the performance. Occasionally he would stop playing to let the bells and singing bowls echo through the space (he even narrated the second song with his well-known "Ibushi Gin" voice). Nakajima creates various sounds with motors from a number of small objects placed on the floor or hung from stands. He also plays his own instruments to produce sounds.
