This album was released in 1971 on Arfrey Records. In the same year, he came to Boston to perform at a concert and took time out of his schedule to record the album. The recording took place in the apartment of Aul Gessner, a permanent member of the Boston Blues Society/Harvard Radio Folk Division. The room, which served as a studio, was very small, with equipment and other things scattered all over the place, and at first glance it may seem inappropriate for recording. The sound quality is unbelievably clear and beautiful. Of course, the laughter that is often interspersed during the performance is a characteristic of one-shot recording, and the intimate atmosphere is so warm that even the listener cannot help but smile. Joseph's cheerful and mischievous personality is also directly conveyed. Joseph had brought his own guitar from the Bahamas, but before recording, he took a liking to a Martin 0-18 owned by a concerned party and used it for the recording. The hard, sparkling sound of the Martin brought out even more of Joseph's charm. During the recording, Joseph played hymns, Bahamian folk songs, sea songs, old Tin Pan Alley pop tunes, children's play songs, and authentic calypso tunes, one after another, with a free-spirited abandon that only he can provide.
