山下洋輔トリオ初期名盤、再再発 !!! 山下洋輔 (P)、中村誠一 (TS)、森山威男 (D)。1969年、山下洋輔トリオ、記念すべきスタジオ初作。 オーネット・コールマン出現以来の衝撃を与えた、と発売時から評された名盤。大和屋竺監督作品『荒野のダッチワイフ』(1967)のためのM1、BACDの4音、イロハでは「ロイハニ」で始まるスイートなメロディーM2、山下が思いついたリズム「グガーン・・・ダバトトン」なる音塊の格闘技M3の全3曲、本邦初のフリー・ジャズのスタジオ録音盤。この時期「我々が演奏するのは実験的なニュージャズなどではなく、ごく当たり前のプロト・ジャズ～原ジャズとでも言うべきものである」と高らかに宣言、時代を突き破り、以後世界へと飛躍することとなった。内ジャケには赤塚不二夫が提供した「ベシ」の画も。 解説: 平岡正明
