Although the AIR MOVIE was not animated by Kyoto Animation, this is still a very very wonderfully animated and drawn out. Yes the art is different and may not look as clean as the TV series but it is not bad. It does take some time getting used to seeing Misuzu with a different face. The story of the movie follows Misuzu's arc, obviously. Certain things here and there are different, but nothing too plot twisting that changes the original story by Visual Arts/Key. This DVD set is of the highest quality. Holding 1 DVD and 2 CDs, for a total of 3 Discs. Each are packaged in their OWN DVD case and then the 3 DVDs are packaged in an hard artbox. A must get for someone who wants to own the entire AIR collection ;)

This movie is one of the best I've seen in a while. The music and art are beautiful. I actually liked it a little better than the TV series.
I felt the movie is more of a different retelling of the story rather than connecting it to the TV series and visual novel. The biggest mistake for me when I first saw this movie was that I tried to compare it to the TV series. I later realized that the movie was in a way different from the series. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you see it. I liked the movie a lot, because it was different from the usual story. Fans of AIR may or may not enjoy it, but treat it as a different story rather than connecting it to the TV series. If you haven't seen AIR yet, the movie is a good starting point. For there, you can learn more about the story by watching the TV series. Overall, it's a great movie if you haven't seen AIR, or do not try to connect it to the TV series. The movie is a different form of AIR, so treat it as such.
