「ロックンロールに別の名をつけるとしたら、その名はチャック・ベリー!」と言ったのはジョン・レノンですが、ロックンロールの創始者であるチャック・ベリーの未発表ライヴが登場。「ジョニーBグッド」「スイート・リトル・シックスティーン」「スクールデイズ」といった発明級のヒット曲を連発した50年代後半から、この時期はチェスレコードからマーキュリーレコードへ移籍しライヴ活動に明け暮れていたチャック。西海岸のロック発祥地ウインターランドでの12月26、29日のライヴを収録。ご当地バンドでもあるスティーヴ・ミラー・バンドをバックに従えJim Petermanのオルガンも心地よいグルーヴに一役買ってます。チャックも終始ゴキゲンで、ロックンロール・ギターを自在にドライヴさせながら速射砲の様なボーカルの切れ味も抜群。5年後に英米1位を記録する「マイ・ディガリン」も既にこの時期から怒涛の「ジョニーBグッド」～「バイバイ・ジョニー」が飛び出すステージ終盤の重要なところで披露されるなど、聴き所満載です。当時の状況、エピソード、曲目などの日本語解説文を内ジャケに掲載。Eternal Groovesの"ROCK OFF"シリーズから登場!
