大江戸喧嘩纏 / 邦画
[生誕80周年特別企画 美空ひばり時代劇傑作選 第2弾] 八百八丁の炎を浴びて意地と鉄火の恋歌ばやし! 美空ひばりが江戸っ子火消しに扮して、右に大川橋蔵、左に大友柳太朗が並んだ三大スター夢の共演。歌も啖呵も歯切れ良しの痛快時代劇。――所は芝神明町、「め組」の辰五郎、お雪兄妹のもとに新貝新三郎という若侍が駆け込んで来た。ワケを聞けば心ならずも強いられた決闘で相手を斬り、国元から脱藩してきたという。武士を嫌う新三郎は火消しになりたいと辰五郎に懇願。お雪の心優しい計らいで、晴れてめ組の一員になった新三郎は、横暴な定火消しを蹴散らして炎の中に飛び込み、一番手柄。やがてお雪と新三郎は仄かに惚れ合うようになっていく。名も新三と改め、肌に刺青を散らせて、もはや武士の世界には戻らぬ覚悟の新三郎。だが、辰五郎、お雪、新三ら町火消しの前に立ちはだかったのは、松平公お抱えの定火消し。ごろつき相撲取りとグルになった暴れ者集団を相手に、江戸っ子火消しが命知らずの戦いを挑んでいく。
