弱い者への風当たりが強い現代社会への反発からスタートする本作は、決して他人事ではない「お金」の問題に加えて、「家族のあり方」という更に複雑な問題を抱えて四苦八苦する、若いカップルとひとりの子どもの姿を丁寧に映し出す。――シェフを目指す35歳のヤンは、採用面接に行ったレストランでナディアと出会う。すぐさま恋に落ちたふたりは一夜を共にした。翌朝、ナディアは、ヤンにシングル・マザーだと打ち明ける。息子は9歳のスリマン。ヤンはスリマンと直ぐに打ち解け、友達のように仲良くなる。ある日三人で出かけた湖畔で、ヤンは廃屋を見つけ、ここは素敵なレストランになると直感がひらめく。その場で不動産会社に電話し物件を押さえにかかるヤン。だがどんなに行動力があっても先立つのものがなければ融資も受けられない。2人の手持ち資金は僅かだった・・・。
