Description

[Machine Translation] Set in the Edo period (1603-1868), this popular period drama depicts the life of Muneyoshi Kouchiyama, a tea master working in the Honmaru district of Edo Castle, who, while engaging in petty villainy with his friends, stands up to powerful lords and wealthy merchants in order to save the weak. Originally broadcast from 1975 to 1976 on Fuji Television, Shintaro Katsu took on the challenge of portraying a dirty hero different from his masterpiece "Zatoichi". As in the "Zatoichi" series, Katsu himself directed the 15th, 23rd, and 25th episodes. The film is also supported by a cast of talented actors including Yoshio Harada, Shohei Hino, Hide (Demon Hide), Kaori Momoi, Mitsuko Kusabue, and Satoshi Yamamura, and the gorgeous guests who color each episode include Yujiro Ishihara, Ken Ogata, Tomisaburo Wakayama, Shuji Otaki, Tomoko Ogawa, Yoichi Hayashi, Keiko Takeshita, Yukiyo Jyuju, Kaoru Yumi, Mori Kishida, and Mariko Kaga.
