[Machine Translation] The long-awaited DVD release of the greatest OVA in history! This is an anime adaptation of "The Imperial Capital Story", a psychic epic novel overflowing with occult spectacle and eroticism that has been enthusiastically supported by the public. This OVA is composed of 4 parts, "Manto Hen", "Earthquake Hen", "Ryudo Hen", and "Bosatsu Hen", and was produced from 1991 to 1992. The film depicts the fierce battle to the death between Kato Yasunori, a demon, Hirai Yasumasa, an Onmyoji who stands up against the evil, Kamo, who uses the best magic in the East (Kihon Fugakko), and Keiko, a priestess of destiny sent by Taira no Masakado, as well as the hidden secrets of the Tatsumiya family, whom Kato is after. The series is directed by Rintaro, a genius known for "Galaxy Express 999" and "Genma Taisen", scripted by Akinori Endo of "Five Star Stories" and "Legend of the Galactic Heroes", and character designed by Masa Sasayuki, whose works include the immensely popular "Neon Genesis Evangelion". The film features powerful images that only celluloid animation can deliver, and that cannot be experienced digitally. The film will include a commentary (planned) and picture label specifications.
