Description

"Hearts in Atlantis" is a movie based on Stephen King's book. As King-based movies go, I find it close in spirit to "The Dead Zone" and "The Green Mile" with elements from "Stand By Me." Anthony Hopkins is brilliant as usual portraying a mysterious man named Ted Brautigan who possess some moderately supernatural powers. He's the new boarder at the house of Bobby and his self-centered mom (Hope Davis, the acclaimed actress of indie cinema). Anton Yelchin who portrays Bobby - who befriends and starts to consider Brautigan as his surrogate father - is almost as good as Elijah Wood was at his age. Directed by Scott Hicks ("Shine," "Snow Falling on Cedars").
