Shigeru has an affair with Michi's mother, who also looks at Michi with lustful eyes. Michi's rebellion against this distorted environment leads her to join a group called the Roppongi Tribe, led by Kenji. One day, Michi's father is hospitalized after attempting to commit gas suicide. Michi runs away from home and becomes attracted to Yoji, with whom she has a relationship. Soon after, Michi receives sad news, and her life takes an increasingly self-defeating turn.

"狂"うほどの情"熱"から抜けられない若者のあがきとその熱から冷めた若者が見つめる先にあるものとは―― 安保闘争後の空虚な時代、JAZZ、車、酒、セックス、暴力に溺れる通称"六本木族"の若者達を斬新かつ過剰な演出で描破した逸品。異常なまでの退廃、狂気、虚無感が作品を包み込む。――高校生のミチとアキ子は終夜営業のレストラン〈六本木〉で大企業の御曹司である健次やトランペッターの陽二達と知り合う。ミチの父は元戦犯で今は病床にあったが、同じ戦犯で絞首刑になった北の遺児茂を引取って健次と同じ大学に通わせていた。茂はミチの母と関係を結んでいたが、彼はミチにも欲情の眼を向ける。こうした歪んだ環境への反抗からミチは健次をリーダーとする六本木族と呼ばれるグループに加わるようになる。ある日ミチの父がガス自殺を計って入院した。家をとび出したミチはやがて陽二に惹かれていき関係をもった。それから間もなく、ミチに悲しい知らせが届き、ますます生活が自堕落な方向へと向かう。
