結成25周年を迎えた"あらかじめ決められた恋人たちへ"が、15分超の長尺曲2曲を含むフルアルバム『燃えている』をリリース。4部構成の前作『...... (リーダ)』(2019)、その後のコロナ禍によるライブ活動の停滞、そしてアフロ (MOROHA)とのコラボ・シングル「日々feat.アフロ」(2021)を経て、インスト・ユニットとしての意義を問い直すところから制作がはじまったという本作。エレクトロやアンビエント、さらにポスト・パンク～ポスト・クラシカルなどの要素を、あら恋ならではのDUB的解釈も交えてひとつにまとめ上げた、レイヤードかつプログレッシブなサウンドとなっている。そのサウンドに紐付く形で、映画監督・柴田剛が参加した映像作品が公開されるほか、ブックレットには、作家・森田哲徳による書き下ろしの小説が付属。音楽、映像、小説の3つの視点から物語を多角的に紡いだ三位一体=トリニティをコンセプトとしたアルバムとなった。
