Visual kei band Girugamesh disbanded on July 10, 2016. After that, the band's leader Shu launched a project MR.8 named after a clothing brand in the online apparel shopping website he made, "THEE MAD COUNTRY'S STORE." 2016/7/10ZeppDiverCityにて解散したビジュアル系ロックバンド"ギルガメッシュ"のリーダーでありベーシストの愁が「MR.8」と称したプロジェクトを発起。斬新な切り口で今作のアルバム制作を行い総合プロデュース。自ら立ち上げたアパレルオンラインサイト「THEE MAD COUNTRY'S STORE」内にてMR.8というブランドがあり、そのMR.8というブランドのコンセプトやイメージ等からインスピレーションされた映像やブランドから聴こえてくる音や絵を表現した作品になっている。多くのアーティストや映像エンジニア、デザイナーを巻き込み『MUSIC×APPAREL×MOVIE×ART』これらを総合演出。今作「8」はハードなEDMサウンドを中心にMR.8のブランドコンセプトである"闇"や"毒"をテーマにした詩や絵をのせ、あらゆる表現角度からMR.8を擬人化させた自由表現芸術作品であり現代アートである。
