Ryuichi has feelings for Kasumi, but is unable to tell her how he feels. When Ryuichi's father is in a critical condition in the hospital, his mother Yaeko ( Yukiko Takabayashi ) tells Ryuichi that he has a half-brother. A few days later, Ryuichi's father dies.
