Description

A live-action film based on the novel by Naoki Prize winner, Kanako Nishi comes out on DVD. Directed by Hitoshi Yazaki. Starring Takumi Kitamura, Nana Komatsu, Ryo Yoshizawa, Shinobu Terashima and Masatoshi Nagase. Plot: Kaoru, the second son of Hasegawa family, received a letter on the back of a supermarket flyer from his father, who has been out of touch for two years. The letter said, "I'm coming home at the end of the year." Kaoru went to his parents' house at the end of that year and meets up with his family and pet dog Sakura for the first time in a long time. However, his older brother Hajime is not there... because Hajime had passed away two years ago.

直木賞作家・西加奈子の傑作小説を、矢崎仁司監督が映画化。出演は北村匠海、小松菜奈、吉沢亮、寺島しのぶ、永瀬正敏。1つの家族を通してさまざまな感情を描く。――音信不通だった父が2年ぶりに家に帰ってくる。スーパーのチラシの裏紙に「年末、家に帰ります」と綴られた手紙を受け取った長谷川家の次男・薫は、その年の暮れに実家へと向かった。母のつぼみ、父の昭夫、妹の美貴、愛犬のサクラとひさびさに再会する。けれど兄の一(ハジメ)の姿はない・・・。薫にとって幼い頃からヒーローのような憧れの存在だったハジメは、2年前のあの日、亡くなった。そしてハジメの死をきっかけに家族はバラバラになり、その灯火はいまにも消えそうだ。その灯火を繋ぎ止めるかのように、薫は幼い頃の記憶を回想する。それは、妹の誕生、サクラとの出会い、引っ越し、初めての恋と失恋・・・長谷川家の5人とサクラが過ごしたかけがえのない日々、喜怒哀楽の詰まった忘れたくない日々だ。やがて、壊れかけた家族をもう一度つなぐ奇跡のような出来事が、大晦日に訪れようとしていた─。
