EP7 - Kimi ga Boku no Genki

The studio session was conducted by Hisashi Numazawa (Drums), Kazuyoshi Baba (Guitar), Asahi Yanagihara (Bass), and Kenichiro Wada (Guitar). The song "You're My Genki" is a refreshing old-fashioned twin-guitar piece with a rich adult eight-beat beat and a positive yet nostalgic Baba-esque style. The twin guitars are old-fashioned but refreshing. The chorus work by Yuki Mito-Katsu is brilliant in this Baba-style city pop song. City is Rain, Spring Rain" depicts the scene of rain and the elusive emotions from Baba Toshihide's point of view. 2020年にリリースした、『EP6-ケムシのうた』から4年ぶりのEPシリーズ第7弾!! 馬場俊英 通算42枚目のシングルリリース! 2012年発売の『EP1 ～ 平凡』からスタートした馬場俊英の＜4曲入り EPシリーズ＞の第七弾! 今回も"今"の馬場俊英が年初に書き下ろしたばかりの4曲が収録。今作ではアレンジャーにシンガーソングライターのミトカツユキ氏を迎え馬場俊英本人との共同作業でレコーディングを展開。スタジオ・セッションには、沼澤尚 (Drums)、馬場 baba 一嘉 (Guitar)、柳原旭 (Bass)、和田建一郎 (Guitar)が参加。収録曲は、豊かな大人エイトビートに乗せて前向きでありながらホロリ懐かしくさせる馬場節、馬場ワールドが展開される、古臭いツインギターが逆に爽やかな、「君が僕の元気」。馬場流シティーポップに冴えわたるミトカツユキ氏のコーラスワーク。雨の情景や、揺れ動く掴みどころのない心情を馬場俊英の視点で描く「街はレイン 春のレイン」。クラシックソウルをベースにしたグルーブに乗せて、別れと旅立ちのシーンを、鮮やかに、そして力強く歌う「太陽に君の跡～Beautiful Morning Glow」。馬場俊英自身の幼少期のロックへの激しい愛情がほのか立ち上がり、大変に微笑ましく、思わず苦笑いの「田舎のミックジャガー」。それぞれに多彩な演奏をお楽しみいただきます。
