東京は八王子で結成された、映画音楽的な手法にクラシック、ノイズ、エモ、ジャズ、即興といったサウンドが融合したイストゥルメンタルバンド「sgt.」が前作のフルアルバムから僅か1年!更なる進化を遂げて2nd mini album『Capital of gravity』(重力の都)を完成させリリースします。昨年のギター脱退後、サポートで参加してきた田岡浩典(Guitar)を正式メンバーに迎え制作された今作はバンド全体のポテンシャルの高さ、そしてこれまでにない新たな創造力とチャレンジ精神の下見事に容として表現した全6作品。新境地を切り拓き、確実に"NEXT"へ進み始めた"new sgt."の意欲作です。ゲストにはkowloon、stimでの活動、またtoe、木村カエラを中心に幾多のサポートで活躍の中村圭作(Piano)。そしてMAS、simを中心に音楽家としての活動、また音楽批評の執筆や菊池成孔との共著など作家としても人気を博す大谷能生がSaxとして参加。Sgt.は前作のアルバム発売以降、初の全国ツアー(8箇所)を各地盛況に終え、ファイナル公演にはROVOでも活躍のVJ迫田悠を迎え大成功を収める。(その模様はDVDとして一部店舗・会場で限定販売中)。その後、4月に開催された仙台のARABAKI ROCK FEST'09への出演や、regaの初企画ツアー、nhhmbaseのリリースツアー、そしてUSから来日したSAXON SHOREのジャパンツアーを全面サポートするなどライブバンドとして着実に評価を高め、インスト・シーンでも無二の存在して確固たる地位を築き始めている。今後は9月2日に、中尾憲太郎(ex.Number Girl)がキュレーターを務めるイベント『kill your T.V'09』への参加が決定している。また発売直後には新宿LOFTにて10月から開催の、連日凄まじいブッキングが続く伝説のイベント『DRIVE TO 2010』にも出演!この日はROVOの勝井祐二が全面参加しツイン・バイオリンと鍵盤を入れた6名でのスペシャル編成。また念願のNATSUMENとの対バンが実現する激アツな一夜です!そして11月から行われるリリースツアーは東京・大阪・名古屋の3箇所。東京ではバンド史上初となるワンマン・ライブを開催!
