7年ぶりのフルアルバムとなる「Neo Oriented」は、彼らが強く影響を受けた海外発の音楽であるジャズ、ネオソウル、AORへの憧憬を示しながらも、生まれ育った「日本」という場所のもつ様々な文脈を強く意識した中で楽曲を制作。国内へのリスナーへはもちろんのこと、それだけには留まらないより多くの「人」に向けて、彼らの現在地と新たな活動の始まりを明確に示すアルバムとなる。本アルバムでは、過去にもEmeraldの多くの楽曲でサポートミュージシャンとして参加している、Cho. えつこ(DADARAY)、Gt. ユースケ(TAMTAM)が引き続き参加。Mix/MasteringはEmeraldの1st、2ndアルバムでも参加した山下大輔が務める。また今作より、新たにクリエイティブサポートとしてNiEW Inc.が参画している。
