INTRODUCING

[Machine Translation] TORTURED SOUL is a three-piece group based in New York with a sophisticated musical sense and soulful melodies that remind one of STEVIE WONDER and others. Their sound, which is full of house music manner even though it is a band style, is full of good songs that will make not only house fans but also soul/R&B fans groan. この度LIFE LINEよりリリースするTORTURED SOULは、NYを拠点に活動している洗練された音楽センスとSTEVIE WONDER等を髣髴とさせるソウルフルなメロディーを持ち合わせている3人組グループです。バンドスタイルながらもハウスミュージックマナー溢れる彼等のサウンドは、ハウスファンはもとより、ソウル/R&Bファンをも唸らせるイイ曲揃い。(まずは4,5,7,8曲目をお聴きください)それは装飾した言葉で説明し理解していただくよりも、純粋に「聴く」という行為で理解してもらうのが一番良いと思います。1曲目の「I Might Do Something Wrong」は、伝統的なN.Y.のイベントとして知られる今は亡き"BODY&SOUL"でプレイされたことでアナログ市場で話題になった曲であり A4曲目「Fall In Love」はCOOLY'Sの方でも共演しているDJ SPINNAが共同プロデュースという形で参加しています。LIFE LINEというレーベルは流行に左右されること無く、様々な人種の、色々な形で表現されていく「SOUL」を紹介していくことを目的に活動しています。ダンスミュージックは確かに流行というものに対して非常に敏感な音楽でありそれを無視することは絶対に出来ません。しかし、それ以上に重要なことだと思っているのは、 サの作品の中にあるメッセージ性とそれを伝えるために作りこまれていくサウンドであると思っています。彼等の作品はそういう自分達の目標に十二分に答えてくれるものであり、更に多くの人を惹きつけるであろうポピュラリテイー性も持っています。御一聴、宜しくお願いします。
