Creature [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]

So it's that time again. Deathgaze release another album :D We always knew it would be something special, after the singles silence/the end and Useless Sun. However, OH MY GOD. I don't think anyone predicted it being this good. While bliss out was a brilliant album, with some amazing tracks. There was the odd few OK tracks, tracks that were just passable and did not realise their full potential, at least in my opinion. ENTER CREATURE, from the very first track I knew this was going to be amazing. The album is extremely varied in style, with some songs being extremely reminiscent of their very old releases, in the form of Newborn wrongful life. Of course there are also a lot of their new style, with ring the death knell being one of the most notable. However songs like Malice show deathgaze's true power, it's heavy yet melodic and features some of AI's best vocals to date! The only let down on the album was the last song, it is not bad by any means! However it is a similar style to bliss out yourself, and you cannot help but compare the two. That is where Glory Sky fails, while still being a very good song, it can not match the sheer brilliance of bliss out yourself. So to conclude, I would score the album 9.5 out of 10. Not being 10 out of 10 soley due to glory sky not matching bliss out yourself, which is a very hard task. There is not one track in the album I do not love, I have listened to it 25+ times since release and I am still loving it. Creature for me shows that deathgaze, in my opinion are the best band in Japan at the moment! They are getting stronger and stronger, every single member, and it is showing through their music! The only negative thing I can say about deathgaze at the moment is they have not come to the UK or Europe. The UK is begging for them to visit. What are you waiting for? BUY BUY BUY.
