The music on this album, which was recorded in his home studio from 2017 to 2008, features beautiful bell sounds by the handbell duo BELLYLOVE on M6 "USUYUKISOU," but all the other instruments are played by Hosomi. Hosomi plays all the other instruments. The music is composed mainly of guitars and wurlitzers, instruments that he uses in his daily life like furniture. The carefully spun sounds are consistently stoic and flat. However, it can be said that this is the maximum poetry of the extremely silent Hosokai. Especially in M7 "BIRTHDAY," the flatness of the song paradoxically makes the feelings for loved ones stand out. 細海魚6年ぶり4枚目のソロ名義によるアルバムである。ジャケットの特徴的な線画は現代画家・山口一郎によるもの。これに呼応するかのように本作における細海の音楽は現代美術のようだ。2017年から'20年にかけて自宅スタジオにてこつこつと録り貯められていった本作は、M6「USUYUKISOU」でハンドベル・デュオBELLYLOVEによる美しい鐘の音が加わるが、これ以外全ての楽器を細海が演奏。主にギターとウーリッツァーといった、彼がごく日常的に使う家具のような楽器で構成される。丁寧に紡がれた音は一貫してストイックで、あくまで平坦な印象に設えてある。しかしこれこそが、極度に無口な細海の発する最大限の詩なのだと言える。中でもM7「BIRTHDAY」では、愛する者への想いがこの平坦さによって逆説的に際立ってくる。それは、明日も変わらない日常でありますようにと祈りを込めて丹念に磨くテーブルの明度に似ているかも知れない。そこには、ひとりの寡黙な音楽家からの手紙が置いてある。外間隆史 [未明編集室/焚火社]
