[角川シネマコレクション2016年 9月度: 横溝正史特集 金田一耕助テレビシリーズ] 物語の中心となるヒロインを夏目雅子が演じているほか、豪華キャストが集結! TV「横溝正史シリーズ」のフィナーレを飾った。――岡山県の鬼首村を訪れた金田一耕助は滞在先の亀の湯で知り合った多々良放庵から20年前にこの村で殺人事件があったことを聞かされる。被害者は亀の湯の女将・青池リカの夫・源治郎で、加害者は詐欺師の恩田幾三と断定されたが、事件後行方不明のままであった。やがて金田一は、放庵の元妻・栗林りんを名乗る老婆と峠で行き交うが、その後、放庵は謎の失踪を遂げてしまう。そして村では凄惨な連続殺人事件が始まるのだった・・・。※1977年8月27日～10月1日に毎日放送系にて放映されたTVシリーズ全6話の内、第1回、第2回、第3回の3話を収録。
